Charleston Wedding Venues: Magnolia Plantation

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is one of my favorite locations to have a wedding to remember! They have unique and elegant backdrops for your choosing. Your choices include: The Carriage House, Conservatory or Veranda, all located in the history, and beauty of one of the South’s most famous plantations!

The Carriage House (c.1840) has spectacular views of the Ashley River, surrounded by ancient Live Oaks, sweeping lawns, and beautiful torches that line the river bank. The updated building is both timeless and modern, and will make a beautiful setting for a wedding.

The Plantation House Veranda is located in the heart of the Garden. It is a truly historic and elegant venue that offers views of Live Oaks, manicured gardens and open pasture. This location is purely a Charleston classic. It's wraparound porch, outdoor ceiling fans, plantation shutters, and a 360 degree view of the surrounding gardens, is what Charleston is well-known for. This location essentially defines Charleston with the picturesque setting alone.
The Conservatory is home to exotic tropical flora with a unique and intimate indoor space. It also has an outdoor deck overlooking the grand cypress trees, Schoolhouse Pond and its famous Red Bridge. Walk the winding path through tropical gardens with orchids, maidenhair ferns and other tropical plants. The Schoolhouse Pond is also shaded with a towering, beautiful Magnolia Tree. This romantic venue is sure to please!

Lastly, the Magnolia Plantation also offers several beautifully landscaped lawns available for your outdoor wedding! With year-round blooms throughout the historic gardens and plantation grounds, Magnolia Plantation is sure to make your big day an unforgettable one.

Charleston Wedding Venues: South Carolina Aquarium

It's no wonder that Charleston is voted #2 in the nation for destination wedding locations! Charleston is absolutely stunning, and the weather is near perfect for a good portion of the year! Getting married in Charleston is a wonderful event in itself, but what makes it even more spectacular is getting married on the beautiful harbor. It makes for a picturesque setting, both inside and out, that will leave a lasting impression for a lifetime.

The South Carolina Aquarium is situated right on the harbor. You can enjoy the magnificent views of the harbor from the Riverside Terrace, dine with hundreds of aquatic guests beside the two-story Great Ocean Tank, and dance throughout the evening in the Great Hall. Not just a fantastic venue for your wedding, but also keep the Aquarium in mind as a unique place to hold your bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, or day-after brunch. Regardless the occasion, your guests will never forget your event or the ambiance provided by the SC Aquarium!
For information to book your event, contact Bryan Kowert at the South Carolina Aquarium for all the details.

Jennifer and Justin

Jennifer and Dustin are a local Charleston couple who allowed me to be a part of their wedding memories. They chose a Malibu (Teal) and pink for their color palette, which was particularly good choice for a summery July wedding. The flowers we used were: hydrangea, orchids, peonies, ranunculus, roses, and calla lilies.

Both the ceremony, and reception were held at Alhambra Hall in Mount Pleasant.

Congratulations Jennifer and Justin!

Maria and Ben

Maria and Ben are a couple from Nashville, Tennessee that wanted to have a destination wedding in the lovely Charleston, SC. They did so by using the aid of a wedding planner, Emily Miller, with Winship Productions.

The color palette was apple green, white and brown. The flowers we used were: green hydrangea, roses, hypericum berries, and white lisianthus.

The Ceremony was held at St. Lukes Chapel.

The the merriment followed at the Creek Club at I'on.

Congratulation Maria and Ben!
