Amazed by the creativity.

Sometimes when I am just surfing the net, I am literally taken aback by some of the creativity I see. This cake, for instance, is absolutely stunning. The detail work on the floral petals are amazing. Especially given the fact that they are all hand made and created by fondant. I'm not quite sure how edible it is, but it's is very visually appealing! Some people truly have a gift, and this cake is a sure example of it.

Here is another example of the many, many that I've seen. Just look at the floral design on this autumn cake. So creative, and very pretty, and extremely detailed! It truly amazing me with how far we have come with design. It makes me think back to when I first got married and remembering during that time, there was nothing remotely close to the things I see now. Makes you wonder if brides know just how far we've come? So the question comes to mind; If you had a chance to plan your wedding all over again, what would you do differently?

Karla and Brian

Had soooooo much fun with Karla and Brian's wedding. Loved the colors and flowers they chose and the arrangements were fun and different! Can't wait to share them with you...

Aren't these colors gorgeous?!?! So many different types of flowers used in this bouquet: Dahlias, Yarrow, Safflower, Thistle, Ranunculus, Liatris, Button Mums, Hypericum Berries, Freesia, and several types of succulents.

Most of the succulents used in the wedding came from Cypress Gardens...another great wedding venue! Kathy Woosly, the horticulturalist at the Gardens, grows everything you see out there. Definitely worth the drive out to visit. http://www.cypressgardens.info/

The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the historic Rice Mill building, downtown. It's a fantastic venue that is run by Good Food Catering. http://www.goodfoodcatering.net/

Roper Foundation - Retired Physician's Luncheon

Did the table centerpieces for the Roper Foundation's Retired Physician Luncheon recently. Just love working with fall colored flowers and leaves. For these small arrangements I used sunflowers, viking daisies, purple stock, status, and caspia, orange/yellow alstroemeria, amber/yellow/green mums, red roses and rose hips...so pretty together! Love this time of year!

Here's a few start-to-finish photos...
