Toriya and Rashad's Wedding Day

Toriya and Rashad are a happy couple from Charlotte, NC. Their destination wedding was held at the Doubletree Historic Hotel in Charleston, SC. From my first contact with Toriya her fun personality came out as she talked about the significance of specific numbers in their lives and how she wanted the sybolism reflected in her wedding flowers. She requested that the flowers in the bouquets be used in even numbers. The only exception to that would be the single lily used in each boutonniere and the 7 yellow calla lilies used in her bouquet, representing half of 14, their number as a couple. I had alot of fun with this request and hope she noticed that I followed it in all of the floral designs! Ashley's Bridal Portrait Photo Shoot

Here are some pictures of Ashley's Photo Shoot for her Bridal Portrait. They turned out absolutely beautiful. (Click on images to make them larger), The bouquet was made from real-touch flowers so the bride has it for a keepsake. Fresh flowers will be used on the wedding day. A big THANK YOU to Chris and Cami Photography who always do a fantastic job capturing all those special moments. Location for the photo shoot was the church of Prince William Parish, known as Sheldon. Built in 1745, it was burned by the British in May 1779. Rebuilt, it was burned again on January 14, 1865 by troops of General Oliver O. Howard, commanding Sherman's right wing coming out of Beaufort. The walls remain today and it is a spectacular place to visit. Click here for a step back into the history books, to learn more about this beautiful church.

Ashley's mother provided the veil from her own wedding to be used on the handle of Ashley's bouquet for an added special touch. I wrapped the handle with strips of the tulle and then molded the headpiece from the veil around the tulle, fastening it with pearl pins.

Melanie and Wayne

 

When I first met with Melanie and Wayne they were obviously in love and very excited about their upcoming wedding! With Melanie living in Egypt, her and Wayne had carried on a long-distance relationship for a long time and were now eager to begin their life together here in the United States. Melanie wanted her wedding flowers to be silk so that she could keep them forever as a reminder of their special day. Her burgundy and black color scheme was carried throughout her day.

The wedding ceremony was on the grounds of The Oaks Plantation in Goose Creek, SC, with the reception following in the Country Club house.

Off to start their life together!

Roper Saint Francis Healthcare

Had a great time making the table arrangements for Roper Saint Francis Healthcare's Quarterly Leadership Development Meeting. The event was held in the Culinary Arts building at Trident Technical College. 

I made two styles of arrangements, in three different colors, all using asiatic lilies and ming fern.

The first arrangement shows the lilies and ming fern in a lomey dish with magnolia leaves and a triple bamboo stake held together with decorative wire.

With the second style I used the asiatic lilies, curly willow, ming fern, and lily grass in a ginger jar.

The event was accomodated very comfortably in the large space with 42 tables in alternating linen colors of orange, yellow, green, and white. Several large projection screens surrounded the room allowing everyone a clear view to follow along with the program.
